It's Happened!!

I've officially hit 100 followers!!!

This is a HUGE milestone, and I can't thank you all enough.


It's a great day, people.  I'm drinking tea, writing, and finally reached this goal.

Update on the "No-'Poo" experiment, and Giveaway Winners!!

I have a confession to make to you all.

I'm impatient.

After a week and a half of the baking soda/apple cider vinegar hair-washing, I'm ready to quit it for now.
I know what all the proponents of it will say--you have to keep at it for at least a month to give your hair time to adjust.
Well, you know what?  I don't like what my hair is doing as it "adjusts"! :(  It looks greasy so quickly, and even right after it's washed and dried it's clumpier than it used to be, and not nearly as soft and smooth or easy to manage.
That, right there, is enough reason for me to go back to my regular shampoo and conditioner--the minimal amount that I use anyway.  I feel prettier.

Granted, I could try adjusting the ratios of baking soda/ACV.  I might do that at some point.  A little more baking soda might do the trick.  But like I said, I'm impatient.  I don't feel like adjusting the ratios and giving it another couple weeks.

Besides, I buy those bargain-sized bottles of Suave shampoo/conditioner (one of the cheapest brands), and they last me nearly six months, people.  It's really not much cheaper to use the baking soda/ACV, once I mix up another batch every two weeks or more, because I use so much more of it than regular shampoo.

So I'm calling it quits.  For now.  Maybe this summer (when I won't be seeing so many people) I'll give it a shot again.  I'll let you know.  But right now, I have something much more exciting to talk about....

"Fab Five" Friday (and GIVEAWAY announcement!)

Laura and Falen at Upward Not Inward are hosting a Friday "Fab Five" linkup, and I'm happy to be joining them today!

This week I am grateful for:
Employment, and time with one of my best friends (which we've worked into our schedules, so we'll be intentional about getting together every week!).  I am also thankful for the time Joshua and I have had to spend together this week, despite busy work schedules.

This week I enjoyed:
Driving to and from work and school!  Thanks to God's goodness and the generosity of my parents and aunt and uncle, Joshua and I now have a car!!  Also, I am loving all my new classes--it's going to be a fantastic semester.

This week I learned:
That getting up early is one of the best things I can do for myself in a day, because it gives me time to do things like reading my Bible (did that every day this week!), blogging (almost every day!), and eating a good breakfast without being rushed to get out the door.  I also learned that I cannot serve in volleyball--need to work on that!

This week I accomplished:
I kept (mostly) on track with the dishes this whole week.  I have a bad habit of leaving dirty supper dishes till the next day and letting them pile up.  I've been pretty good this week at not doing that.  By tomorrow night, I will have accomplished all my housecleaning for this week! :)

I am looking forward to:
Going to see The Hobbit again tonight with my hubby, and the arrival of one of our dearest friends for a five-day visit!  She's staying with us while in town for, technically, a business reunion, but I'm SO excited to see her (it's been over six months)!!!
