Beginning the Journey

I am a Christian.  I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  I am also a sinner.  I struggle to live in obedience to God.  I know that I am forgiven when I sin, however, because Jesus Christ has died to free me from my sins.  This is something I did not earn, but was freely given to me by grace.

One thing I struggle with constantly is the discipline of daily Scripture reading.  That's my purpose for beginning this blog: to have somewhere to share my thoughts, and to have accountability to continue in daily reading and studying of the Bible.

I'm going begin with Psalm 119, because I've never read it all the way through, and because it's all about loving God's word and living in accordance with it.  The title I chose for my blog comes from Psalm 119:105: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."  I want to live in the light of God's word, because I know that through his word I will see more clearly his will for my life.
